1.To revise and expand vocabulary about lifestyle and activities.

2.To guess general meaning from keywords and context

3.To identify names of places and activities

4.To skim text for overall meaning and scan for detail

二、Teaching procedures

Step 1 Warming up

1.Use powerpoint to show some pictures and learn some new words

2.Preread questions: would you like to live in a country?

                 Do you like to live in a new modern town?

  Step 2 Presentation

    1.Listen and answer:

1. Is Sunshine Town a modern town?

2. Can you shop until ten o’clock in Star Shopping Mall?

3.Can you eat Beijing Duck in Sunshine Town?

2. Guess the meanings (do exercise B1on page 24)

3. Listen to the tape again and finish true or False questions:

1.It takes 40 minutes to  walk to the centre of Beijing from Sunshine Town.______________
