Ⅰ. Knowledge and skills
To help the students get the general ideas of the passage after reading it.
To help the students organize some information about the World Park.
To help the students organize a day out to a place.
To cultivate the Ss’ abilities of obtaining and processing information in practice
Ⅱ.Teaching difficulties:
To learn the new words and expressions;
To improve the Ss’ reading skills;
To help the students report the day out to the World Park.
Ⅲ. Emotion:
   It can arouse the students’ special attention and inspire them to describe
feelings and experiences in a very informal day; At the same time, it is a link to the world outside China; It’s also helpful for the students to love the
nature, protect our nature and get on well with it.

Teaching Procedures:
1. Warming-up questions.
1.      Do you like traveling?
2.      What places of interest did you visit before?
3.      How did you go there?
4.      Can you tell us some other ways of traveling?
2. Pre-reading question
Do you believe that we can visit all the interesting places in the world in only one day?
3. While-reading questions
l         Listen to the first part and do True or False questions.
1.      Mr Wu invited Linda to join their school trip on October 25th.
2.      It took them half an hour to get to the World Park by coach.
3.      Linda and Kitty didn’t enjoy the trip at the beginning.
4.      They became very excited when they saw the model pyramids from the coach.
l        Read the second part and answer questions.
1.      How many places of interest are there in the World Park?
2.      What did Linda think of the song and dance parade?
3.      Who wanted to join in the dancing?
4.      Where can you see real pyramids?
l        Do some further reading and answer questions
1.      Where did Linda meet Mr Wu and other students ?
2.      Where did Linda see a lot of traffic, on the highway or on the city roads?

Task One: Please show their traveling route.
Task Two: Find some words to describe their feelings in different places and talk about their feelings all day.

5.        Post-reading:
 
    Choose your favorite place. (Group work)
 There are over a hundred of places of interest in the World Park. Do you want to know more about them? Which places of interest do you want to visit most in the World Park?
Each group chooses a picture to talk about the place of interest you want to visit best. 1) where to go 2) when to go   3) how to go 4) why to go 5) what to see   6) how to feel
TEach group chooses a student to give us a report.
Talk about your magic trip around the world in a day.
Boys and girls, you will have the magic trip around the world like Harry Potter. Where will you go? Who will you go with? How will you go to the places? What will you see and do there? Please use your imagination(发挥你的想象力) and write an article about your magic trip around the world.
